West Brom welcomes Stoke City to the Hawthorn for a sort of mid table battle. Separated by 12 points to day, both clubs have a keen eye on progression but perhaps on a different level
Prior to this game, Stoke had won 3 out of the last five Premier league game and are amongst a handful of teams pushing for Europa League spots. Thus sitting in on 8th, relegation is not on Mark Hughes's mind, but how to bring out optimum performances from his boys during these next few months of the season.
Sitting in on 13th, West Brom are still within the reach of a relegation battle, but almost barely, with 8 points separating them from QPR in 18th position. After their subsequent losses away at Villa PArk, a homw win will be appreciate by the Baggies Faithful. February Manager of the Month must buoy his charges and go for the jugular in order to avoid any relegation fracas in the months to come
West Brom will be without Victor Anichebe and Callum McManaman. Other than that, they have a full squad raring to go. Stoke City on the other hand, still have Peter Odemwinge and Bojan watching games from the side lines, along with captain Ryan Shawcross and Stephen Ireland who are close to return.
Although both sides have players capable of scoring goals; Saido Berahino has scored three in his last four games and Mame Diouf three in two apps, West Brom has failed to score against the Potters in the last 11 games. Shocker... As such, it will come as no surprise that Stoke has won 10 times out of the last 11 games these two have been involved in. Only thing the Baggies may be optimistic about is tghat they have kept clean sheets in their last 5 home games
These stats indicate an interesting contest for us this afternoon. Can't wait mate!
