Preview: Sunderland vs Aston Villa

Recently appointed Tim Sherwood and co travel up North to the Stadium of Light to challenge the Black Cats for all the spoils in this edition of the EPL. Both clubs are situated in very low positions, Sunderland in on 16th and Aston Villa on 17th, one and two points separating them from doom, although there's more than football separating both teams

Aston Villa, especially after both Derby wins against West Bromwich, seem to be revitalised under Tim Sherwood. As they look to continue to build on these victories, today they must pull out all the stops if the are goin to avoid relegation

On the other hand, external issues seem to have rocked Sunderland recently; Adam Johnson legal problems as well as the Gaffers own FA issues. These issues also seemed to have spilled unto the pitch as Sunderland are winless in five games; losing two and drawing three. A home victory here as well is desperately needed, as the Stadium of light hasn't had one since the end of January

While Sunderland has most of their players fit; Aston Villa has a whole host of short term and long term players who will be sitting this clash out: Benteke, captain Ron Vlaar and co may be encouraging their team from the stands.

This game has not produced more than one goal in three games. I'll be here hoping for the opposite today
