Lionel Messi has closed the gap in the two horse race with Cristiano Ronaldo for prestigious La Liga Golden boot. The gap has been closed to just 2 goals with Messi on 26 and Ronaldo on 28. Ronaldo,started the season in outstanding form,scoring 15 goals in 8 games to set a record for the best goal scoring start to any La Liga season.
This feat was achieved despite his missing a substantial part of the season to injury. Lionel Messi has however now hit a purple patch of his own, and is scoring goals for fun at the moment while Ronaldo has compared to his high standards struggled to score as of late. The race for the Golden Boot as well as the 2015 Ballon D'or is shaping up to be a close and entertaining one
