Serena Williams Returns To The Indian Wells Masters
19 time Grand Slam Champion Serena Williams has decided to participate in the Indian Wells Masters in California, 14 years after she decided to boycott the competition, based on accusations of racial abuse back in the 2001 Final, where she was booed as she competed against Kim Clijsters, coming out as the champ.
In an interview with Time magazine, she confirmed her re-entry into the competition, stating she herself didn't think she'd ever comeback, however it just felt right to do so
The whole issue began when Serena won the final and some fans heckled the American and her family, not because she won, but because her sister, 7 time Gran Slam winner, Venus Williams pulled out of the semis with Serena because of injury.
All things set aside, Serena will compete today against Monica Niculescu
