Rejuvenated Fellaini

Man United's game against Tottenham was great for all Man U fans to see. Apart from that Jones shot on target, which luckily De Gea was alert to, the whole team showed passion and hunger, and for the entirety of the game, we looked like the one thing we haven't look like in ages: the better team.

A few changes were made, or rather they were forced on us; Di Maria sat this one out due to his one game suspension and Jonny Evans who is also sat the game out and would be chilling out for a while. Phil Jones started this one with Juan Mata debutising for the suspended Di Maria, Main Man Michael Carrick was also given his first start since the end of January. Although it may seem that Mata isn't exactly Van Gaal's cup of tea and that Carrick's incessant injuries may see his time at United come to an end pretty soon, both players turned in a fantastic shift, with Mata being the man we bought from Chelsea, causing constant problems for the opposition, and with Carrick getting a goal and an assist.

However, the person I really want to talk about is Fellani. I'll even admit it that i didn't sing songs of praise when Moyes brought him over from Everton. Injured for most of last season, he was mostly unspectacular when he was called upon to perform. even earlier this season, he was my favourite to leave in january and when that didn't happen, I thought for sure he'll be out by July. However, the Belgian has been steadily improving of late and has may even start getting among the goals, as he proved yesterday.

I guess what I am trying to say is that Van Gaal started doing what Moyes forgot to do, ok didnt have the chance to do; he pushed him forward, which was what really got us looking at him in the first place. During his last season at Everton, he played behind the striker and wreaked havoc. when he came to United, he faced oppostion for that spot, both fiercely and in numbers. This season however, with Rooney being pushed forward recently and the others strikers dip in form, Fellaini has been given his chance to flourish. He's winning nodders again, he's showing strengh as well and his touches aren't as heavy as boulders any more. Well not so much. I normally allow myself not to be optimistic, but I do hope things continue to improve. When he is at his best, Fellaini is very tough to play against and a player like that, along with a few other key elements will be key for Man United's Champions League aspirations as well as their re-emergence as a true force in English and European football.

All I'm trying to say is that I would welcome this Fellaini in the Man United squad any day of the week. hopefully he'll keep up the good work and this article wont have been a waste of my time! Fingers crossed
