Hannah Davis recently posed in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition. But the model has stirred up a bit of controversy as her pose exposed a part of her body which females apparently have a problem displaying to the public. The mons pubis, which is the mound of flesh on top of a woman's pubic bone located between the top of the panties and the 'expcicit' is fast becoming a part of the body to show off.
The trend has been attributed to an increased interest in pornography worldwide as women are now quick to strut their stuff to the public for attention as well as admiration. Jeniffer Weiner,a journalist for the New York times expressed her opinion on the new fad in her article 'Great! Another thing to hate about ourselves' published in the renowned newspaper this weekend. She is quoted as saying
"It's shocking, and it's meant to be. With hard-core pornography available to anyone with a laptop and a credit card, Sports Illustrated has to raise the stakes if it wants to stay relevant."Each year brings a new term for an unruly bit of body that women are expected to subdue through diet and exercise.""Show me a body part, I'll show you someone who's making money by
telling women that theirs looks wrong and they need to fix it. Tone it,
work it out, tan it, bleach it, tattoo it, lipo it, remove all the hair,
lose every bit of jiggle.
Oh well, I guess we all don't like perfect female bods.
