Why the Fernando Alonso crash is mysterious

The details of Fernando Alonso's car crash in Barcelona a fortnight ago have left many confused. Former Formula One driver David Coulthard, has even gone as far as saying that there is more to the story than meets the eye.
David Coulthard, who was speaking on BBC's F1 preview programme, raised questions as to the genuineness of the car crash. He even went as far as insinuating that it might have something to do with Alonso's disinterest in racing for Mclaren. David Coulthard was of course speaking speculatively. He said
'I think there is more to this than we are being told about at this time,' There is conflicting information coming out, saying there are zero signs of any injury but then three days of hospital for concussion.
'It does not add up. He does not need three days of privacy, he can go to his own private residence and have that'.

The Crash
The details of the crash are incomplete. For instance, Mclaren is yet to release the computer telemetry from the car which contains important information. It contains braking, as well as steering details which will help determine the speed of Fernando Alonso's vehicle when the crash occurred with certainty. There are conflicting reports about the speed of Alonso's vehicle when the crash occurred. The GPS and lap time data, however suggest that he crashed the car at the speed of 217 kilometers per hour. It is believed that the crash was largely caused by a strong gusty wind, that caused Alonso to lose control of the car and crash into a wall.
Fernando Alonso suffered a concussion as a result of the car crash. He is reported to have woken up not being able to remember the car crash and also not being able to remember the last 20 years of his life. He has since recovered and is hoping to race in Malaysia later this month.

What is Mysterious about the Crash?
Besides the weather, which Mclaren attribute as a major factor, the exact cause of the car crash has remained largely unexplained. The questions that remain unsolved are...If Alonso was able to decelerate the car, why was he unable to stop the car from hitting the wall? In order words, why did he lose control of the car? The second question is Alonso's state after the crash. He is reported to have suffered a concussion. But Mclaren boss Ron Dennis is reported as saying that there was no concussion at all."He is physically perfect,.There is no concussion,He had the symptoms at one stage but nothing that shows (on scans).'
Right now these questions remain unanswered. I can therefore relate with David Coulthard when he says he is confused about the incident. His delving into Alonso's possible disinterest in Mclaren is where i defer with him. It is important that we give Fernando Alonso and Mclaren the benefit of the doubt. The integrity of Alonso, Mclaren, and the doctors involved are largely at stake here. The issue here is that there are conflicting reports amongst them. This could however be due to misinformation or failure of communication between them. With time, I hope all these issues are resolved and more light is shed on what actually happened.
