Jack The Lad Presents Lord Bendtner

The Denmark striker has been handed a small piece of land which carries the title of Lord, meaning the nickname given to him at Arsenal is now a genuine moniker

Nicklas Bendtner’s ironic ‘Lord Bendtner’ nickname is now a legitimate title after a Danish magazine purchased a prestigious piece of Scottish land on the player’s behalf.

The one square foot of land in Glencoe Wood was bought by the publication SE Og HOR and registered in the name of the Wolfsburg striker, making him a Lord of Glencoe by extension.

The 27-year-old had previously been handed the nickname by Arsenal fans in an affectionate response to his inconsistent spell at the Emirates Stadium, with a Twitter account in the name of Lord Bendtner also set up in his honour.

And Highland Titles has confirmed to Goal that it has sold the plot of land to a buyer in the name of the Denmark international, and that he now carries the official title to match his comic moniker.

Bendtner himself has reacted positively to his new acquisition, with agent Elisa Lykke confirming to the Daily Mail: “We have seen it, and Nicklas thinks it's a fun gimmick.

“We have asked to be sent a receipt and we are pleased that it supports a nature conservation area.”

The front man has so far hit 71 goals in 281 games during a career respresenting Arsenal, Birmingham City, Sunderland, Juventus and Wolfsburg, but has netted just three times in 21 outings for the Bundesliga side this term.
