Champions League: London vs Paris

Tonight, Jose Mourinho's Chelsea welcomes Paris Sr Germain to Stamford Bridge to entertain us, the footballing faithful. What was already a highly anticipated game from the second the draw was mad had developed to something similar to a grudge match; one team seeking to take revenge for last year's close defeat, the other welcoming the challenge presented tonight. All in all, one thing is quite clear: both teams are seeking to use the other to show its dominance and strength in football.

The home side, Chelsea top the premier league convincingly, however Mourinho's Blues do not hear their names being sung as Europe's best despite a decent record in decent years, perhaps mainly because of their hard biting defensive methods; yes they have the best defensive record in the Premier League but they also have the second best scoring record in the league as well. Unbeaten in eight games in all competitions, Chelsea will be looking to extend their run and perhaps show themselves to be truly amongst the Europe's Elite.

On the other hand, a win for PSG will be soooo sweet for them, revenge and confirmation as a true European power is on the cards for them. Unbeaten in 13 games in all competitions, PSG still hasnt been confirmed as one of the greater teams and maybe that is because the Quarter Finals is as far as they come in recent history. A win tonight and further progression will show their credentials

Notwithstanding all the hype, both teams will present stern tests for each other; powerful but technical forwards, a mean midfield and an able defence will be present for both sides. this will be a game for the tacticians. With an overwhelming 73% of us favouring a win for the londoners, one cant help but feel that the footballing world might be in for a surprise tonight, and if very very very recent history means anything, tonight as well may be special. See y'all tonight!!!
