Louis Van Gaal has finally decided to go into the market to buy a new midfielder
This decision will be met with approval from all as this may finally give Rooney a chance to reclaim his position as a forward, instead of playing so deep into the midfield; a move which has gathered criticism against Van Gaal
Van Gaal was said all this before the FA cup fixture against Preston North End, adding that its because of players like Di Maria and Januzaj bombing forward, he needs to find a balance, someone to shoulder the protective responsibility. Hence the need for an extra midfield player
He also admits that perhaps public opinion may have come into play I this decision, citing the fact that he felt no problems with putting Rooney in the midfield, as the player himself seemed happy with the role. However one may argue that Wayne Rooney is vest suited forward, with 8 goals in 14 games at the beginning of the season. However he is currently experiencing a nine game goal drought, with his last goal coming against Newcastle United, where he played as a forward
